ForBox App Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how ForBox Express (“ForBox”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the ForBox mobile application (the “App”). The App is an internal operations tool used by ForBox Express delivery drivers and warehouse operators to receive dispatch assignments, navigate to stops, track deliveries, and record proof of delivery. It is not intended for general consumer use.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
- Name, email address, and phone number used to create and sign in to your work account.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information (name, email) those services share with us.
Location information (including background location)
The App collects precise location data while you are signed in and on an active shift or delivery task. Location collection continues in the background — even when the App is closed or not in use — so that dispatchers can see driver positions in real time, assign nearby tasks, share accurate arrival estimates with recipients, and verify completed deliveries. The App asks for your consent before enabling background location, and you can stop collection at any time by ending your shift, signing out, or disabling the location permission in your device settings.
Photos and camera
- Photos you take in the App as proof of delivery or to document issues (e.g. damaged goods).
- Recipient signatures captured on screen at delivery.
- Images you choose to attach from your photo library.
Device information and identifiers
- Device model, operating system version, and app version.
- Device identifiers and push notification tokens, used to deliver dispatch notifications to your device.
Motion and activity data
- Device motion/activity state (e.g. moving vs. stationary), used solely to make location tracking battery-efficient.
Usage and log data
- Actions performed in the App (task accepted, delivery completed, message sent) and related technical logs.
The App does not collect the advertising identifier (AAID/IDFA) and does not serve ads.
2. How We Use Information
- Dispatching, routing, and real-time tracking of deliveries.
- Recording and verifying proof of delivery.
- Communicating with you about assignments (push notifications, in-app chat).
- Payroll, performance, and operational reporting within ForBox Express.
- Safety, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and service improvement.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf, such as Google Maps Platform (maps and routing), Google Firebase (push notifications), and Amazon Web Services (secure hosting of our backend).
- Delivery recipients and merchants, who may see the assigned driver's first name, approximate position, and estimated arrival time for their own order.
- Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property.
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your work account is active and as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes (e.g. delivery records, dispute resolution, tax and employment requirements). Location history tied to completed deliveries is retained as part of the delivery record. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.
5. Security
Data is transmitted between the App and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to operational data is restricted to authorized ForBox Express personnel. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Location: control the location permission at any time in your device settings; ending your shift or signing out stops tracking.
- Notifications: disable push notifications in your device settings.
- Camera/Photos: grant or revoke these permissions in your device settings.
- Access and correction: you may request a copy of your personal information or ask us to correct it.
Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional statutory rights to access, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. We honor such requests as required by applicable law and do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
7. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your ForBox account and associated personal data at any time by emailing support@forboxexpress.com from your registered email address with the subject “Account Deletion Request”. We will verify your identity, delete your account, and delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (e.g. employment and tax records), which are retained only as long as required.
8. Children
The App is a workplace tool intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email, and the effective date above will be updated. The current version is always available at forboxexpress.com/privacy.html.
